Operation Wedding

Atlanta News, Weather, Traffic, and Sports | FOX 5

One of the first things you want to do is choose a theme.  Choosing a theme will set the tone and style for your dress, invitations, floral arrangements, venue, and even your music.  Often times people will mistake color as a theme.  It is important to choose colors that go with your theme, versus the color being the theme all by itself.  Have you ever been to a wedding that had a color over kill?  The pictures end up looking like a "Where is Waldo" book except you are searching for the bride.  Choose colors for the season.  The color of the year 2013 is emerald green.  Trying to find this color for bridesmaid dresses for me was hard, however, I am sure you have seen this color in high-end fashion styles for this upcoming spring and summer casual wear.         Now back to theme's, there are several websites you can look at to help with choosing a theme, however, I suggest starting with what is important to you.  As I was picking out invitation styles and floral arrangements, I had to keep my theme in mind so that everything looks coordinated and stylish.  A good vendor for invitations will ask questions and give suggestions (Thanks +Marjorie Pruitt ).  But you should expect them to ask a very important question first:  What is your theme?

Ancil and I decided to go with a Garden of Eden theme.  We are getting married at +Ashton Gardens - Atlanta April 25th. So for our special day we will turn it into Eden.
